Excellence

Commentary

For Excellence, the ākonga is required to express three categories within a discipline of Te Ao Haka. 

This involves demonstrating storytelling and technical proficiency appropriate to the style of each category through the performance, and executing a performance with ihi, wehi, and wana.

Merit

Commentary

For Merit, the ākonga is required to communicate three categories within a discipline of Te Ao Haka. 

This involves conveying the kaupapa of the three items through the performance and giving meaning to each category through appropriate expression.
