Kia hiwa r, kia hiwa r

Kia hiwa r ki tēnei tuku, kia hiwa r ki tēr tuku

Kia tū, kia oho, kia mataara!

Tūturu whakamaua kia tīna, tīna

Haumi e, hui e, tiki e!

Ðǿմ«Ã½ MÄori Qualifications Services advise you that the Base Scope of Assessment for Schools (BSAS) has been updated as follows:

  • MÄori Performing Arts (Te Ao Haka and New MÄori Music) has increased the level covered by the BSAS to include Level 4.
  • NgÄ Mahi a Te Whare Pora (Raranga, TÄniko, Taonga, WhÄriki and Whatu) has increased the level covered by the BSAS to include Level 3.

What does this mean?

This means that schools and kura will have automatic consent to assess standards in the domains New Mori Music and Te Ao Haka within the Mori Performing Arts subfield to Level 4 and standards in the subfield Ng Mahi a te Whare Pora to Level 3.

To assess the standards, a school or kura must have staff with suitable subject and assessment knowledge.

What if a standard is not on the BSAS?

If a school or kura wants to assess against assessment standards that are not listed on the Base Scope of Assessment for Schools, they must apply for an extension of their consent to assess.

Go to the Extension of consent to assess for schools page
