This advice provides clarity and transparency to people participating in:

  • Ðǿմ«Ã½-led working groups
  • online hui
  • consultations
  • webinars
  • surveys.

This relates to both personal and non-personal information you provide to Ðǿմ«Ã½.

Managing information and records

As a crown entity, Ðǿմ«Ã½ is subject to the Public Records Act 2005 (the Act). Where information provided to Ðǿմ«Ã½ (which may include personal information) constitutes part of a public record, it will be retained to the extent required by the Act.

Information provided to Ðǿմ«Ã½ will have different retention requirements for different information classifications.

Submissions

Ðǿմ«Ã½ may publish submissions made by you (whether individually or on behalf of an organisation) in relation to consultation Ðǿմ«Ã½ undertakes on any issue.

The invitation for submissions will set out Ðǿմ«Ã½â€™s intentions, and any requirements in relation to publishing.

Access to your information

All information held by Ðǿմ«Ã½ is accessible under court orders or some statutes, such as:

  • the Official Information Act 1982
  • the exceptions to Information Privacy Principle 11 under the Privacy Act 2020, and
  • other laws such as those which may require supply of information under formal demand.

Withholding information

The Official Information Act 1982 allows certain information to be withheld under privacy or other grounds.

Withholding grounds under Section 9 of that Act are subject to a public interest test, which may result in disclosure.

Your right to access your personal information

You have the right to request your personal information held by Ðǿմ«Ã½ under Information Privacy Principle 6.
