It is with great sadness that the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (Ðǿմ«Ã½) acknowledges the passing of Eve McMahon, former Deputy Chief Executive, Quality Assurance.
Eve joined Ðǿմ«Ã½ in 2007 to lead a targeted review of qualifications in New Zealand and became Deputy Chief Executive, Quality Assurance in 2019 before retiring from Ðǿմ«Ã½ last year. During her time as Deputy Chief Executive, Eve supported the development of the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework, including the introduction of micro-credentials and skill standards in vocational education. With a sharp eye on quality, Eve was a passionate believer in lifelong learning, and shared her expertise in qualification systems willingly here in New Zealand and internationally.
We send our deep condolences to Eve’s whnau.
A public celebration of Eve's life will be held at Old Saint Paul's, 34 Mulgrave Street, Wellington, on Friday 14 August at 11.00am.
